Taylor Tributes Total £3442.31family presents cheque to British Heart FoundationFinancial donations made following the untimely death of local MP David Taylor and at his Memorial Service have topped £3000. David’s widow Pam and their four daughters Rachel, Sarah, Jessica and Catherine presented a cheque in the sum of £3442.31 to Sophie Jardine, Fundraising Volunteer Manager with the British Heart Foundation on Saturday. Pam said “On behalf of myself and the girls, I’d like to say a very sincere thank you to the many, many people and organisations who have made a contribution or sent a message of condolence. There are just too many to reply to individually. To know that so many people held David in such high regard has been a considerable comfort for us all through these difficult times. “As David died from a heart attack, the British Heart Foundation seemed the appropriate charity to benefit and I’m sure that they’ll be able to put the money to good use. “I would also like to thank everyone involved in the Memorial Service held at St Helen’s Church, Ashby de la Zouch on Saturday morning. We all found it to be a very moving event. I’m sure that David would have been touched by all the kind words people had to say about him both during and after the service. Thanks also for all of the contributions to our charity collection which came to £478.31 on the day.” Sophie Jardine said “The amount donated is an amazing tribute to David, and shows how much he was thought of by so many. “Sadly, I didn’t have the privilege of meeting Mr Taylor, but have been moved by the wonderful words used by so many, to describe both him and his work. My thoughts are constantly with Pam and her daughters.” Ends News category: , News Releases |
