A message from David's family

From Pamela Taylor:

I would like to thank everyone who has shared their kind words and thoughts of David with us. David worked very hard to improve the lives of individuals and also to make the world a better, fairer place for us all. Although his love is all around us I dread having to spend the rest of my life without him. Our girls and their families must also now face the future without his constant love, help and advice. Though it was often difficult to pin him down to make plans he always tried his best to be with us as often as he could. No family gathering will ever be complete again. We were lucky to have known and loved him and to tell him this before he died.

Thank you to all the people who have sent their kind thoughts, prayers and recollections of our Dad, though it doesn't lessen the pain of our loss, it is a comfort to know he was so well thought of by so many. As a public figure our Dad was kind, principled and selfless. He was exactly the same as the father we loved and respected. Dad was proud of his girls and we were hugely proud of him and all that he had achieved. Though Dad wasn't always able to be with us, we knew he was always there when we needed him. We were always in his thoughts, as he was in ours and will remain so.
