PM’s Thanks to Local ‘Christmas Heroine’

Rev Jill Willett from Greenhill has attended a ‘ reception at No 10 Downing Street

Rev Jill Willett from Greenhill has attended a ‘Christmas Heroes’ reception at No 10 Downing Street hosted by Prime Minister Gordon Brown to celebrate the efforts of those in our local communities who make Christmas special by their commitment to help others.

Jill was nominated by local MP David Taylor who said “Jill works with men and women with dependence issues who live ‘on the margins’ in the Greenhill area. She’ll be working as normal on Christmas Day to give a proper Christmas Dinner to all of those who attend her weekly drop in.”

Jill said “"It was very interesting to be in Downing Street, and to meet the Prime Minister. I am grateful that he took the time to meet ordinary people like me, in the midst of a very busy week! I am also grateful to David Taylor for this opportunity to share with him and the Prime Minister something about the work that we are doing at Greenhill Community Church with those on the margins of society who too often find themselves ignored and overlooked.”
