Backbencher of the Year 2007 |

It was a real privilege to for me win the title of “Commons Backbencher of the Year” in the Annual Awards organised by Sky TV and The House magazine and decided by a ballot of all 646 MPs. My citation described me as ‘an indefatigable campaigner, constant attender and independent–minded’. Having been shortlisted for the second time, it was a wonderful surprise to have won this time and I am most grateful for the support of colleagues in all parties. |
